A mum of three who swapped her career as a nurse recruiter for adult content has struck gold with an unexpected talent her voice.
Holly Jane, 42, from Texas, now makes nearly £15,000 a month just from recording custom voice notes, with British men in particular obsessed with her soft American accent. On top of that, she pulls in an average of £59,000 monthly from her wider adult content, with some months hitting as high as £197,000.
With 1.6 million Instagram followers (@holly.johnston_xo), Holly has found a surprisingly profitable niche in simple spoken messages. Fans pay around £15 for a basic good morning clip and up to £80 for more detailed scripts anything from Bible verses to intimate, roleplay-style instructions.

I used to think my accent was kind of annoying,” she admitted. “But British men find it calming, exotic, and sexy. Now I get messages every day asking me to say their name or tell them about my day.”
The requests go far beyond small talk. Holly says some men pay for elaborate roleplay scenarios asking her to pretend to be a co-worker, a friend’s wife, or even a Mormon missionary, a nod to her former religious life before being shunned by her church.
It can get really specific, but that’s what makes it fun and profitable,” she said. “I get six to eight voice requests a day without fail.”
She’s often stunned by how much people are willing to pay to hear her talk. “I’ve earned hundreds in one sitting just from voice clips,” she said. “People used to mock me for being a ‘dumb blonde American’ but I turned my voice into a business. It literally pays the bills.”
Since launching her OnlyFans in 2021, Holly’s life has completely changed. The financial freedom, she says, has been life-altering and it all started with something as simple as talking. “People underestimated me,” she said. “But now my voice is my secret weapon. I’ve built a business just by speaking – and that’s my reality now.”
